Fletcher Joe Perry "Joe the Jet"
One of football’s greatest runners, Perry was one of the National Football Leagues’ original 1,000 yard rushers in a 12 game season, Nicknamed "The Jet" because of extraordinary quick start, he led the 49ers in rushing seven years in a row and eight out of ten. He was the first in the history of the NFL to carry the ball through two successive 1,000 yard seasons - 1953-54. Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. Enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.
