Joe Morgan

 

Raised in Oakland where he attended Castlemont High School. Went to Merritt College one year. Joined Houston in 1961 where after playing in minor leagues he became regular in 1965. Traded to Cincinnati in 1972 where he won give Gold Gloves. Played in four World Series 1972-75-76 with Cincinnati and Philadelphia in 1983. A total of 22 years in the major leagues with Houston, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Oakland. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990. Enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
