John Madden

Played football and baseball at Jefferson High School in Daly City. A tackle at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles but his career ended with injury in his first season. Coached at Hancock Junior College and San Diego State. Joined the Oakland Raiders as assistant coach in 1967. In 1969 at age 33 became the youngest coach in the NFL. Won 112 games in 11 seasons, including one Super Bowl and eight seasons in playoffs. Enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
