Jim "Catfish"Hunter

Came to Oakland in 1968 with the Kansas City A’s where in seven seasons with the Oakland A’s, he played in three World Series. His World Series record was 4-0 with one save. With the A’s, he bettered 20 wins five times, topped by 25-12 in 1974 and 23-14 in 1975. In 1972 (21-7) and 1973 (21-5), he led the league in percentage of victories. Had a perfect game no-hitter, May 8, 1968. Elected to Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1987. Enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
