Greatest fullback in Stanford history earned title "America’s all-time one-man team" for prowess in all aspects of fame of football. Consensus All-American voted to College Football’s All-Time All-America Team by Football Writers of America and NCAA in 1969. Earned 11 letters as collegian, excelling in football, baseball and basketball. Pitched professional baseball with St. Louis Browns before pro football career. While with Cardinals scored an NFL record 40 points in one game. 1963 charter member of Pro Football Hall of Fame. Enshrined in Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1980.
