This annual scholarship began in 1991 when Rosenbaum completed 60 years as a San Francisco Chronicle columnist-sports editor. Art, a native San Franciscan, started his journalism career as a high school writer for the Chronicle and upon his retirement wanted to help high school newspapers and his love for sports writing. The goal of this program is to reward students interested in writing, contribute to the winner’s college fund and to urge schools to maintain their journalism programs.
The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame would like to thank the San Francisco Giants for providing game tickets to the scholarship winners and their continued support of the Art Rosenbaum Sports Writing Scholarship program.
Thank you and GO GIANTS!
