The Olympic Club
The 15th Annual BASHOF Golf Classic was held on Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Olympic Club. Over 200 golfers teed off on the Lake and Ocean courses, and a great time was had by all! Most important, over $200,000 was raised to help kids play sports!
- It was a beautiful sunny day on the golf course, and the event featured the always popular Ken Venturi Golf Clinic, where Ken Venturi demonstrated the delicate art of the chip shot. There were numerous prizes offered on the courses, including longest drive, closest to the pin, and hole-in-one contests on each course, with Saab 95s provided by Dirito Brothers VW/Saab as well as a $10,000 cash prize.
- Participants received fabulous gifts, including U.S. Open shirts, US Bank golf balls and canvas bags, Hornblower Cruises gift certificates, Frogger Golf Brush Pros, the book 12 Steps to 18 Holes and PopChips. Thank you to all of our donors!
After a successful day on the course, the players came in to relax at the 19th Hole in the Clubhouse. The social hour included hosted cocktails, golfer awards, and a silent auction featuring many sought-after items. After the social hour and silent auction, the attendees moved into the dining room, where they enjoyed an always delicious Olympic Club dinner. Shannon Wong, the San Francisco City Golf Champion, was awarded the Beau Venturi Memorial Scholarship by Ken Venturi. Fred LaCosse and Terry Lowry auctioned off four great packages, including a San Francisco 49ers VIP Package, Olympic Club Lake Foursome, San Francisco Giants tickets, and two tickets to the 2011 Masters in Augusta.
