The 14th Annual BASHOF Golf Classic was held on Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Olympic Club Lakeside. Over 200 golfers participated on the Lake and Ocean courses. A great time was had by all, and most important, over $200,000 was raised to help kids play sports!- Participants received fabulous tee prizes, including BASHOF hats, US Bank golf balls, Olympic Club golf shirts, Hornblower Cruises gift certificates and Dirito Brothers Volkswagen bags.
- After registration, the putting contest was held, as well as the ATR International Golf Clinic. Due to the unfortunate absence of Ken Venturi this year, the Olympic Club pros stepped in, providing a one-minute band-aid at the driving range.
At 11 a.m., the shotgun start rang through the courses and the golfers were out enjoying the world-famous courses of the Olympic Club. After a successful day on the course, the players came in to relax at the 19th hole in the Clubhouse. The social hour included hosted cocktails, golfer awards, and a silent auction featuring many sought-after items.- After the social hour and silent auction, the attendees moved into the dining room, where they enjoyed a delicious Olympic Club dinner. Andrea Fung, the San Francisco City Golf Champion, was awarded the Beau Venturi Memorial Scholarship by Matt Venturi. A special President’s Cup discussion was led by Ian Knight of the PGA Tour, Brian Murphy of KNBR and Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle. Those in the audience thoroughly enjoyed hearing this firsthand evaluation of the great event. A live auction followed, featuring such exclusive items as two tickets to the 2010 Masters, a foursome at the Olympic Club and a special San Francisco 49ers Experience package.
